Enhance Your Truck’s Exterior Fast with Chrome Mirror Covers

Truck owners are often in an ongoing dilemma. Typically, the reason they own a truck in the first place is because they need one, be it for work or play. They need the extra space, torque, and overall power. Of course, there are different reasons for everyone. But at the same time, like owners of automobiles in other classes, truck owners want to put their own personal stamp on their vehicles. It’s just that it isn’t always easy to do. A lot of times, these drivers are afraid to get too aggressive with their exteriors because they don’t want to dirty up their trucks, and chances are, they will. So the question becomes, why bother hooking up with aftermarket pieces of flash if it’s just going to get all mucked up?

This is why chrome mirror covers for trucks have become such a hot item. Unlike many accessories meant to dazzle and impress, truck chrome mirror covers deliver an understated yet classy approach that lights up the outside of even the most rugged hauler. There is no need to worry about seeing some expensive upgrade you threw on becoming rusted or ruined. Truck chrome mirror covers are not only located in a place that usually doesn’t see too much action (the side-view mirrors), but they are also crafted out of ABS plastic, so the chances of them getting scuffed or cracked is minimal, at best.

One brand that is known for producing top-quality chrome side-view mirror covers is Pilot Automotive. Pilot Automotive Chrome Mirror Covers are a popular choice for most pickup drivers because of their standard of quality in both design and application. Unlike many foreign auto accessory manufacturers, Pilot Automotive Chrome Truck Mirror Covers are manufactured from ABS plastic. That part of the equation is not all that unique, because other companies use the same material. However, Pilot’s chrome mirror covers are also triple chrome plated. This adds on a whole other layer of protection on top of providing a glistening custom finish.

Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge...Pilot makes truck chrome mirror covers for all of the big boys. If you ever saunter over to a local car show and you see some pickups in the lot, it’s a pretty good bet that you will notice at least some of the trucks on display sporting chrome mirror covers made by Pilot. The wild part about all of this is that these chrome side-view mirror covers are not expensive at all. Depending on the type of truck you own, most pairs of mirror covers are under $80. UltraRev actually has a host of chrome mirror covers by Pilot on sale for under $50. So in other words, instead of spending a couple hundred bucks on a whole ton of bling for the outside of your ride, for a whole lot less money you can grab a pair of chrome mirror covers. It’s nice to be able to implement a tasteful, luxurious look while keeping your wallet intact, isn’t it?

Installing truck chrome mirror covers is also an extremely simple task. All it really requires is about 5-10 minutes of your time and preferably, a day without rain. What you want to do first is take one of the covers out of the box and do a “test fit.” This will allow you to make sure the covers will fit on exactly to factory specs. Next, take a paper towel or rag with some rubbing alcohol and wash the mirror housing. The reason you want to do this is to get any dust or debris off of the surface. Since Pilot Automotive Truck Chrome Mirror Covers are backed with 3M adhesive, from here it’s just a “peel & stick” application. Unpeel the 3M tape and place your cover over the mirror housing, somewhat gently stamping it on to confirm it is snug. And that’s basically it. There are TV commercial breaks that take longer it seems than it does to install chrome mirror covers.

At UltraRev, we have seen the rise in popularity chrome side-view mirror covers have enjoyed in recent years, especially for trucks. As you can probably tell, there are pretty good reasons for that. They enact a glimmering accent that definitely gets attention. They are inexpensive yet uncompromisingly durable. And best yet, installing them is a breeze. UltraRev carries a complete selection of truck chrome mirror covers for all kinds of makes and models. Check out our inventory today or let us know what you need. We’d be happy to hear from you!

Why Pay for Expensive Wheels When You Can Get Wheel Covers?

Custom wheels are nice, aren’t they? Not only do they look fantastic, all bright and shiny, but many of them are designed to provide a lighter ride. A smoother ride.  And there is no doubt as to the kind of effect they bring. You ever see a car, any car, with glimmering rims that you know had to cost a fortune? They make an impression practically instantly. Even if the car is parked in a lot with thousands of other cars, you can’t help but stop and take a look. Yep, expensive wheels or rims sure are an enviable upgrade. They produce an image that really fills up the tires nicely.

But there is a holdup. The truth is many of these “elite” custom wheels are very expensive. Not just a little expensive, we’re talking well into the four figures type of expensive. And for some drivers, that’s no problem. They can handle that kind of price. But for many others, that is way too steep of a financial investment for them to make. Thankfully, if you are someone who has been itching to grab some of that shiny excitement for your ride, there is an alternative: Chrome wheel covers. Chrome wheel covers deliver the same level of class and glass as the big boys do but at a tiny fraction of the cost. There is also no gigantic installation fee (or shipping fee, for that matter) attached to them. All it really takes is figuring out what kind of design would look best on your vehicle and knowing your tire size.

Bully makes a huge line of chrome wheelskins for vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Bully Chrome Wheel Covers are manufactured from ABS plastic and are also triple-chrome plated. ABS plastic isn’t simply some kind of cheaply produced plastic you might think of for other applications. ABS stands for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. It is a plastic compound most commonly used for drainage pipes, vents, and more recently, for many exterior automotive accessories. What makes ABS plastic special is its toughness. ABS is more than strong enough to withstand a substantial amount of direct blunt force without so much of a hairline fracture. It also stays somewhat flexible at room temperature, so its pliability is another major plus.

The pliability factor cannot be underestimated. Wheel skins that are crafted out of ABS (as Bully Wheel Covers are) offer a pretty easy install. Since Bully Wheelskins fit right over the circumference of your wheel surface, they require little more than a snap-on installation. The fit is wheel-specific, so once it’s on, it is staying on. The only time wheel covers are not an at-home installation is if there is a weight in the way causing interference with the rim. In those instances, it is a good idea not to mess around with it and instead, to take your vehicle to a shop and let them handle it. At practically every tire center or even oil change garage, they have the tools (and experience) to move the weight safely from its disruption point. From there, the installation becomes the easy “snap-on” procedure drivers are promised.

Let’s get back to the fashion. Bully Chrome Wheel Covers come in a huge range of styles for many cars but mostly trucks. So you won’t find wheel covers with gaudy, over-the-top styling. The whole goal is to make your tires shiner, classier, and to mimic the sophisticated appearance of actual expensive chrome wheels, so it wouldn’t really look so hot rolling around on four tires featuring some kind of art experiment. No, you want the glimmer and gleam chrome dishes out. And you’ll get it, too, especially since Bully wheel skins are triple-chrome plated.

It feels good to know there are other options out there for car owners who want to get up with the same level of explosive luxury chrome wheels and rims deliver but without having to go broke in the process. The key word here is alternative. Chrome wheel covers are a worthy “alternative”, not a paltry substitute. If you choose top-quality wheel skins, you won’t be able to tell the difference between actual chrome rims and ABS wheel covers. Bully Wheel Covers are not cheap plastic hubcaps that will go dull on you after a couple of months leaving you wondering why you even bothered. Hubcaps only cover the center (or hub) of the wheel and most often, stop looking nice after a couple of winter storms. That isn’t the case with Bully. We’re talking about serious quality with a serious design. The fact that they are far very affordable is just a bonus.

So check it out for yourself. Do some investigating. “Google-image” some shots of Bully Wheel Covers and picture them on your car, truck, or SUV. If you’re in the mood for a classy upgrade, just head over to UltraRev and check out our selection. We carry a comprehensive line of chrome wheel skins for a hefty assortment of cars and trucks.

Hitch Covers Send a Personal Message

Hitch covers are not a new item. In fact, they’ve been around for years and years. But these seemingly small accessories actually make a huge difference. Don’t misunderstand, they are not some dramatic part you add to your truck and all of the sudden, people everywhere are noticing your vehicle like never before. No, they are not that kind of aftermarket addition. But they do serve a purpose: Hitch covers reveal a sense of your personality.

Can you imagine how many times someone who is an alumni of Michigan honked their horn (or flashed an obscene gesture) at a guy in a Sliverado sporting an Ohio State hitch cover? Or how often people in Boston salute the Sox logo located on the back of someone’s pickup outside Yawkee Way? Yes, hitch covers have a niche in the sports world. Fans across all the major pro sports and college teams love to accessorize with these little guys on their big vehicles because it’s a tasteful way to advertise allegiance without going overboard.

Bully Hitch Covers are available in a whole cavalcade of options for both sports fans and those drivers who just want to express a little extra style on their trucks or SUVs. Because it’s not just the sports world that Bully Hitch Covers are used for. There are hitch covers featuring the logos of truck manufacturers such as Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GMC, and Cadillac. Some may be more into a different kind of expression. That’s fine; Bully has designs for them also. Skulls, chrome propellers, chain links…the list goes on and on. You can find hitch covers for a whole range of interests.

Even though Bully Hitch Covers do come in dozens of different designs, perhaps the most popular are college sports teams. They have them for every major program in the US including Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, and just about any other big-time school you can think of. Chances are if you own a truck, you’ve at least considered hooking up with one if you happen to love college football or basketball.

One crucial note about Bully Hitch Covers is their level of quality. Bully Hitch Receiver Covers are made from tough ABS plastic, so their durability is never a question mark. They are even triple-chrome plated for an added layer of toughness as well as shine. So they can take some bumps and bruises and still come out looking like gold. Best of all, they are extremely inexpensive.

Are you a college sports fan? Or are you a truck owner who likes to demonstrate a touch of personal style just for the heck of it? Comment below with a link to your ride with a hitch cover or tag us on Instagram. Of course, if you have yet to get your paws on one, simply head on over to UltraRev to check out our selection of Bully Hitch Covers. You won’t be disappointed!

Aftermarket LED Lights Give Every Car a Chance at Luxury

Over the past decade, we’ve seen more and more people running some kind of LED light setup on or in their cars. It used to be that this was more of an underground “tuner” thing rather than an upscale enhancement. You know how it goes, you had kids who were all into whatever looked the hottest, whatever they saw in movies (I’m looking at you “The Fast and the Furious”), and just tried to impress the world with their souped up Preludes. Not that there is anything remotely wrong with that. In fact, I think we can all agree that any sporty compact danced up with LED running lights can be a pretty picture. But the usage of aftermarket LED lights was very much a niche thing, it wasn’t widely applied. On and on it grew and before you knew it, luxury car owners started getting into the mix, finding their own ways to put LEDs on their vehicles while still maintaining an appearance of elegance. After that, it was just a matter of time. Eventually, luxury manufacturers began dipping their toes into the LED pool and including them as stock features. When this happened, the culture of automotive LED lighting changed in the blink of an eye.

It became a game of “catch up.” On one hand, you had automobile manufacturers providing LED lighting systems and on the other, you had drivers who wanted the look for themselves but didn’t know how to get it. It was almost like tug-of-war. The car companies wanted to provide it to make their products more attractive, thus indirectly stifling those who might seek LED upgrades on the aftermarket. However, a calm started to settle in. An increasing number of auto accessory brands started churning out their own lines of LED lights and the look became available for the masses at an inexpensive price. The name leading the way was and is Pilot Automotive.

Pilot Automotive has been responsible for creating the most comprehensive line of LED Accent Lights and Daytime Running Lights in the industry. The reasoning is pretty simple. Pilot offers affordable options in a variety of styles, which is perfect for vehicles of every size and shape. Drive a Yukon? No problem, Pilot Automotive LED Daytime Running Lights are universal for each type of automobile. Zip around in a Mustang? Pilot has you there also, as their collection of LED Flexi Accent Lights will fit anything from a Silverado on down to a Geo Metro.

All of Pilot’s LED lights follow a similar formula. They are all basically designed the same, featuring automotive-caliber 3M adhesive and slim frames or shapes for flexible styling. Some drivers used to balk at the use of 3M tape for exterior accessories, thinking it might not be durable enough, especially for those who reside in turbulent climates. But that worry has been debunked for a long time at this point. 3M tape has been proven to be able to hold chrome trim, rear spoilers, and emblems in place throughout the entire life of most vehicles it has ever been applied to.

Of course, one of the best traits LED lights boast is their longevity. Pilot LED car lights are virtually promised to last over 100,000 hours. Let that sink in for a second. In other words, they are good for over eleven years. Not many motorists hold onto their rides that long nowadays, do they?

Whichever way you look at it, a lot has changed over the last ten years. LED lighting is no longer just for street racers or luxury cars, and you can pretty much get your hands on them everywhere. Not only that, you don’t need a friend to install them – just a few minutes and they can be applied to almost any location on your car. The only time installation is ever a hassle is if you have to wire your LED lights in, but that is more for the front of your vehicle as opposed to the sides or even the interior. Typically, LED lights that go in the front of a car serve a purpose other than fashion – that’s not exactly what we’re talking about here. But even when that is the case, wired installs are pretty easy. They are mostly just “plug and play” situations most can handle without an issue.

UltraRev is an official carrier of Pilot Automotive LED Lights in every style in every color for every vehicle. We enjoy seeing what our customers do with their lights when they get them, so if you are one, send us a pic or tag us on Instagram. There aren’t many images cooler than a driver who knows how to use LED lights creatively. In the meantime, hop over to our selection to see if we have any LED setups that are a match for your ride!

Husky Floor Mats: To Protect & Serve

One of the most competitive product categories in the world of automotive accessories is floor mats. It’s not so much even a bitter competition between brands, it’s more of a race to see which company can convince the floor mat buying public that it is not worth their time to go with a generic name for their mats. Because after all, that’s the real battle floor mat manufacturers are faced with: Indifference. There are many drivers (perhaps millions and millions and millions of them) who do not pay a ton of attention to the floors of their vehicles unless something happens to it. And to compound the situation when they look for floor mats, most of the time they are looking at places like Sears and AutoZone for cheaper replacement mats. How does one name-brand outshine another when the majority of consumers who can use their product are otherwise indifferent to their quality?

Husky Liners doesn’t even worry about that, as this floor mat manufacturer keeps it simple. Husky offers a versatile lineup of different floor mats and cargo liners for every contemporary vehicle on the road. Husky gets through to consumers because the brand doesn’t over-market their product. Husky Liners Car Liners and Floor Mats are made for one key reason – to provide outstanding protection for the inside of your car. That’s it, there isn’t a whole lot more to say. You won’t find countless ads and an overuse of terms to describe their floor mats. Instead, what you will find is a description of how each different type of mat works, what it is made of, and if it’s a fit for your car, truck, or SUV (chances are, it is).

Another key aspect to Husky is their application of cargo liners. Husky Liners Cargo Liners have become an extremely popular item for SUV drivers in recent years. The reason is because unlike floor mats, cargo liners are responsible for keeping a vast amount of space clean and protected. The problem is other floor mat companies that produce cargo liners all seem to have a common problem – their liners ride up on the sides and near the hatch of the vehicle. This is a problem because not only does it create space, but it can also play in role in the shifting of cargo during travel. Husky Cargo Liners don’t have this issue due to the brand’s patented “Form-fit Edge”, which is actually designed (and custom-fit to each specific vehicle) to provide a close perimeter around the cargo area as opposed to just cover it. These cargo liners have certainly made their presence felt inside the floor mat industry and there is no sign of them slowing down anytime soon.

Husky Liners car floor mats are becoming very popular with luxury car drivers. For years and years, luxury car owners preferred custom carpet mats as opposed to rubberized floor mats. That would make sense, since the idea for a luxury car is to have comfort and elegance, to promote an upscale appearance. But what those of us in the automotive world are learning is that more and more luxury car buyers have shown a higher interest in protection than softer comfort. That is why Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats are now recognized as one of the most widely-used car floor mats around. The reasoning behind this is very simple. Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats are laser-scanned to ensure an absolutely precise OEM-quality fit for every make/model. And since they are designed with Husky’s own special rubberized compound, these drivers know they can depend on the level of security these mats provide for their vehicle’s carpet. At this point, many in the luxury car buying public would rather have sturdy protection and clean floors than a soft, cushy surface to rest their feet.

Husky Liners Car Liners is an interesting brand responsible for producing elite-quality floor mats for every driver’s needs. It really doesn’t make a difference if you drive a big, tough Ford F-350 or cruise around in a Chrysler 300, your interior floor is not a place you want to become a disaster. Leave it to Husky Liners – they will take care of your car, truck, or SUV with interior protection you will be proud of.

DC Sports Promises High Performance Quality & Results

DC Sports is an interesting company. Founded by twin brothers Darrell and Darrick Contreras, DC during its inception was akin to a mad scientist’s lab. Not that it was all experimental, because the parts the Contreras brothers were trying to improve upon were already in existence (by and large). What made the early days of DC so unique is that both Darrell and Darrick were highly intelligent, motivated individuals. The reason this is unique is pretty easy – when passion is the ambition there can be no failure. This wasn’t a startup with dollars in its eyes and a bubble to burst. The Contreras siblings had a mission, and that was to develop high-performance parts for sports compact cars that would make a difference both on the track and on the street. But in order for that to happen, Darrick and Darrell had to know what they were doing and moreover, prove it to others.

Once enough buzz was generated, DC started building a following and their level of respect within the industry began to grow. The pivotal moment for DC Sports was in 1987, when they were approached by American Honda to design and build a header for the 1988 Honda CRX competition car. The header was a hit, the company was formed, and next thing they knew, DC was developing additional products for other models in the Honda lineup. It’s a different story, an interesting one. Which makes where DC Sports stands in the auto industry today even more compelling.

Nowadays, DC Sports is one of the big boys when it comes to high performance parts and accessories. The eclectic mix of drivers into DC Sports gear is like going to a Chili Peppers concert – you see people of all backgrounds there. But with that being said, DC Sports is known for churning out performance car accessories geared more towards a competitive segment. After all, soccer moms aren’t usually on the market for strut bars or cold air intake systems. But there is more than one reason DC Sports has such a solid reputation (being under the Pilot Automotive banner doesn’t hurt, certainly). DC doesn’t skimp. They don’t manufacture products out of “metal” or double-welded aluminum. For all of their products that require meaningful structural fortitude, DC Sports goes with stainless steel. Look at their lineup of headers. All of their headers and exhaust workups use stainless steel and are CNC-machined. That may not seem like a big deal, you may even expect it out of that kind of product line, but consider this: There are plenty of foreign companies pulling the proverbial wool over consumer’s eyes with cheap metal exhausts spray-painted with chrome. It happens all the time.

But as much as we can talk about the type of materials the company uses to construct their lineup, it all comes down to how their gear actually performs. DC Sports exhaust headers are among the leaders for competitive drivers and serious customizers to the point where there is almost a cult. Drivers are loyal to the DC Sports and that is quite a compliment given the amount of competition the brand has. And it’s not just exhaust headers. DC Sports Strut Bars and Chassis Braces are also perennial hot items. The best part is, none of this is a coincidence. When you have a company constantly attempting to improve upon what it already does as good or better than everyone else you are always going to see results.

At UltraRev, we hear from drivers all over the globe. We keep our ears to the ground to see what people like, what they are talking about, and who they trust. Pilot Automotive and DC Sports seem to always pop up. That is why we are happy to carry their products. DC Sports performance car accessories like exhaust headers, mufflers, strut bars, and cold air intake systems are an important fabric to the driving public (especially all the racers out there). If hitting the road with greater intensity is your goal and you want sincere quality to back it up, UltraRev has the DC Sports performance parts to get you where you want to go.
